Peace and Unity
Peace and Unity is the central theme of this year's Father Ryan Arts Center African American Art Exhibit. Given the continued presence, and in many areas escalation, of violence, abuse, and discord from a global, national, regional, local, neighborhood, family, and individual perspective, the call for Peace, as a goal, and Unity, that is cooperation -- working together in empathy and in ernest and with respect -- as a means for accomplishing Peace is as important today as ever. It is our hope that the artwork in this exhibition will serve as a platform to help foster better awareness, understanding, and actions toward this end.
